For comparison (read on their pages 3 Oct 2026): Lumind one-time AI visibility reports $19 / $49 / $99, AppearAI audit $250, Otterly.AI Lite $29/month, Semrush plans from $139/month. Those track prompts and mentions; Citewren checks and fixes the technical side that decides whether AI can read and cite you.

Questions

Which AI bots does Citewren check?

GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User (OpenAI); ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User (Anthropic); PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User; Google-Extended and Googlebot; Bingbot; Applebot-Extended; Meta-ExternalAgent; Amazonbot; CCBot; Bytespider. The score counts the search and user-fetch bots, because they decide whether answers can cite you; training bots are listed so you can choose.

What is llms.txt and do I need one?

/llms.txt (llmstxt.org) is a short Markdown map of your site for AI assistants: a title, a one-line summary and links to your best pages. It is cheap to add and Citewren's Pro report writes a draft from your own sitemap pages.

Why not Semrush, Ahrefs, Otterly or Peec?

They track how often AI answers mention your brand, from $29 to $139+ a month. Citewren does the step before: makes sure AI crawlers can reach, read and cite your pages, and tells you exactly what to change. Many teams use both.

Does it change anything on my site?

No. It only reads robots.txt, /llms.txt, your home page, your sitemap and (Pro) up to 15 public pages, like a browser would.

Refunds?

14-day promise: if it doesn't work as described, email us within 14 days and we fix it or refund you in full (terms). Monitor plans cancel any time from the billing portal.
